Got a Tikka 25-06 and it will shoot 10 shots touching at 100.

Let's just try to stick with the best 1/4 bore that was ever developed and will ever be.... the 25-06.

A 25-06 with a 1-7.5 twist would be awesome. Plenty of room to stick those long suckers out there. Love my brothers 25-06 with 117gr bullets. Hard on deer!!

I agree, and recoil would be virtually nothing!

That’s what intrigued me.. would be a heck of “longerish” range hunting gun as you could spot hits easily.

I built a 25-284. Tikka long action mags, 7.75 twist. Can’t wait to get it running. If hornady would adopt the 25cm, and 25prc and make a 135grn eldm, shit would be on fire

Mine is a Model 700 and 30+ years old. 100% factory including the crappy factory trigger yet shoots lights out every time. It is by far the best dollar for dollar shooter I will ever own.

I can’t believe high bc bullets and fast twist have not been a thing. .25 cal is the sweet spot for having a heavy enough bullet for most all big game hunting. with a super high bc bullet and can be driven near or above 3000fps with standard cartridges. 6mm’s lack the punch at long range and 6.5’s start out a little slow with the high bc stuff out of standard cases.

I run a 25creed prs rifle, have a 25saum with 600 rounds that looks to be half way in its life span, my smith is finishing me a 25 Sherman short tactical right now, basically a shortened improved saum with 69gr capacity. The 131 is for real. I run a 340g7 in the creed and it works for me @ 2950fps. Just received another 2k rounds. I own the 25saum reamer if you want to use it!

What’s your opinion on the 6 mm CM? Is that not the 243 reinvented? Is that not possible with a quarter bore with a faster twist?

It's 26" 1:7 bartlein HV. Running 42.3gr rl16 in alpha brass. I just got some peterson brass and am trying to get that dialed in as I'm not the biggest fan of alpha.

Rokslide blasphemy but mine is a Savage topped with a Leupold 4-12x40 vx2 and will light a match at 100 yds with 117 gr SST factory loads. Have a dozen plus critters to testify.

The 131 Blackjack has my attention also. A 25 PRC, 25 creed or 25x284. A 131 gr .25 cal bullet at 3200 fps would be awesome on antelope/ deer size game. If the Blackjack didn't work out a 121/128 hammer would light up some game too. I bought a Kimber Montana 300 wsm with the intentions to Rebarrel it into a 25 prc. Finding the right fast twist barrel and contour has been tough, I know I can special order but I'm impatient!
I agree and hope that Hornady and Berger will come out with a high BC .257 bullet in the next year or 2. I need a quarter bore in the safe
