Can this be done? Seems I remember that the 257 weatherby works but what about the 7mm W

I've seen 300 Win Mag ammo fired in the 300 Weatherby and it blows out perfectly to the 300 Weatherby case with a short neck. But that is the opposite of what you are doing.

Because they head space on the belt, you can neck it down to .264 and not worry about shoulder headspace. If it fits in your chamber with no resistance upon the bolt closing, use a fireforming load and see what you get, IMO.

Yeah its worth doing some checking. I think the 270 weatherby will work as well. I wasn't quite sure how necking down .020 would work.
Good 264 brass (norma)seems to be impossible to find. It seems weatherby brass has always been good so thinking of going that route

Grafts doesn't have Norma in anything I can use or at least I didn't see it

I have two boxes of the old W-W brass if you’re interested. 1970-1980 vintage, same lot number, unfired. $55 TYD.
