Just perusing the new Nosler Reloading manual and the ballistics on the 28 Nosler are incredible. Was wondering if there are any of you out there that have experience with this cartridge and can say what it's like as far as accuracy, how well it likes different weight bullets and how much felt recoil there seems to be with it. Thanks for your input.

I have about 500 rounds through a Legendary Arms 28 Nos. Running 180 Berger at 3070 fps- can go faster but these run .4" groups.
Mine has a muzzle brake so the recoil is very manageable. My 140lb teenage son has shot it a bunch and has taken Mule deer, elk and a moose with it from 188 to 560 yds. all first shot kills. He can consistently hit the 800 yd gong on the first shot. Very nice round to reload it does shoot lighter bullets fine but with the powder capacity i feel the heavies are best. Brass is expensive but I have some that I used for load development with 12 firings i trimmed them about 4 times and annealed twice. I am going to get another 28 Nos this year as my son has pretty much taken that one!

I really like mine. I bought a nosler patriot (liberty now). I've only shot the 175gn accubonds through mine over 7828ssc and h4831sc the 4831 has been the most accurate out of my rifle. I loaded some 140 gn Barnes ttsx and haven't had a chance to do a ladder test yet as well as some Berger 175gn vlds. I have dope to 1200 on mine and can make consistent hits with it at that distance. Here's a group I shot using a Harris bipod and a sand sock for a rear rest.

five rounds at 200.

Recoil is similar to my stw's and about like my kimber 300 win mag in an 8lb gun. Mine with glass (Burris xtrii 5-25x56) weighs just over nine pounds. I had a kahles 2.5-10 on it but wanted more magnification to shoot past 1000 so I swapped glass it was a shade over 8 with the kahles. I'm a huge fan of the 7stw but the more I shoot the 28 it's gaining favor ability in my arsenal. I shot this coyote and 285 yds the exits with the 175's are devastating.

Pretty hard on furs but I've been using it as my contest rifle for coyotes and hope my hunting partner can shoot any cats we call in.
