I think sometimes I forget how nice a 300” elk really is when you read and get caught up in the numbers of 350+ trophy elk.

It's funny the number of guys that see pics of that bull and think he's 330+. I've taped him myself, he's south of 300. I'd be happy with a bull like that on dang near any tag out there, though, which seems to be the point of this thread.

Every one of these elk are great animals. Sometimes we get caught up in numbers, but I would be thrilled to harvest any one of them. And I think most hunters would as well. Great bulls

Absolutely. Every second of their life, they were on a collision course with us, who ended their life. They are as great as they've ever been when we sent our bullet or arrow in their direction, and they should be honored, at least as much as we honor ourselves.

The guide friends I have joke about the “320 or better” guys that show up in camp. They occasionally like to crap their pants and miss when anything near 270” steps out.
