I remember as a kid watching two nice bucks that some other hunters had spooked stop and stand around for a few minutes at around two hundred yards in front of me. I had my 3030 m94. I looked at them with my iron sights and the front bead covered almost the whole deer. I passed and watched them walk away over the ridge. So I went home and borrowed my Dads 3030 Marlin with a 4X scope and took it out and sighted it for 200 yards. Then I found that I was shooting way high at 50 and realized how much of a drop it had and just went back to my Winchester and ethical ranges. After hunting elk and seeing how tough and awesome they are, I feel I owe them to do my part. Heavier arrows and cut on contact fixed blade broadheads or heavier bullets of the best construction with enough power to make a clean kill at a reasonable range.
