Any insight as to your caliber selection? Why the nosler over the prc, etc. Stuck between these two calibers for my next build at the moment
I think the 30 Nolser has a better case design for the +P chambering. IMO the only advantage the PRC has is the factory offerings.

This being said could you do a +p chamber in the 6.5 & .300 prc?
Defensive Edge has a 300 PRC +P blog post on their website I'm pretty sure. More than a few folks are running them, and it seems to be a good pairing if you wanna run 245s. I had Shawn do a 28" 300 WM +P for me and it has the 245 running 2971 with 570. This winter I'll be dropping off parts for a couple rifles cuz I'm interested in a 20" 30 or 338 as well

have you loaded any 245 eol in it yet?
I'm curious as well, velocity would probably top out at 2700 and recoil would be stout in that light a gun, even with the brake. In my 300nmi, 215s @ 3160, 230s @ 3080, 245s @ 2970 all have very similar ballistics. But the 245 had noticeably more recoil from a braked 10# rifle.

She’s going to shoot around 2950 with 89 grains of 570 which I am just tickled with. All up with the NF she’s 8 pounds

Not bad for night shootin. They will clean up a bit with some rounds down the tube. Thanks again to @Unknown Munitions for working with me on the unknown starting point of the 30 Nosler +P.

So is there any danger in doing a +p on a new or used barrel?
Has anyone done a 28 nosler or would that really decrease the barrel life if an already known barrel burner?

The whole process is to reduce chamber pressure enough that you can cram more powder in. Giving you more velocity. As to the "danger," I don't see it being dangerous unless the end user is an idiot and doesn't work up their charge slowly to find a safe load. It's $200 to do an existing chamber. Up to you on if it's worth it or not. I personally wouldn't do it to a barrel halfway through a 8-900 round life

I should have been more clear with my question.... is there any danger in damaging to the rifling and or barrel by turning it into a +P? I just had a 28 nosler put together and thought I’d ask about it. It’s still unfired.

It can only be damaged if it's dialed in wrong on the lathe and or it gets run in too far giving excessive freebore. The tool to do this is just a throating reamer.

Not really, Shawn or Bob wouldn't do it if they saw an issue.

Well the 30 Nos is 2-0. The 215s Unknown Munitions built me were straight money.

I bet they're still in that 2950 range, I think @Ryan Avery is busy editing his Winnerwell stove review video
