Out of my rifle (ABolt-II W/BOSS) it is about 3250. Powder is cheaper and easier to find, it is an accurate load (3/4" groups at 100 yards) and the recoil is very mild. Similar to a 243. I don't get hung up on velocity spreads as I only shoot out to 400 yards. So it doesn't make much of a difference when shooting at a deer sized animal. I get 4" groups at 400 yards. And that's fine by me. I only have a 12X scope on the gun so that is about all I will ever achieve. Cant hit what you cant see. lol Never have been a ribbon chaser. Just a practical shooter/reloader.

Killed the deer in my avatar with that load. He was a big deer. Took 2 shots but I used to hunt Pennsylvania so I never stop shooting until they hit the dirt. lol
nice yeah have really grown to like the 300wsm. thats a good buck

I am running Berger VLD Hunting (175 gr) with RL16 powder. The rifle is a Savage 110 Ultralight with a Griffin can. I am staying right around the 2900 mark and holding impressive accuracy out to 1100 yards. The thing has yet to let me down and, with this load, I have had wonderful results on antelope, deer, elk, and a few coyotes.

I’m about to start load development for my 300 wsm tikka build. I’m going to be using 208gr eldm Hornady bullets. The powders I have that I think might work well are h4350, h4831, h1000, Rl26, imr 7828 and Staball 6.5. The barrel is a 22” proof 1-10” twist the throat is set up to maximize case capacity with the boa tail junction ahead of the case neck shoulder junction. I am going to use the powder I have instead of driving myself crazy trying to find something else. I would guess rl26 will have the best velocity but if it’s temperature swing is out of control I’d rather not use it. Anyone have a good accurate load with one of these powders?
What load did you come up with? Details please. I’m using H100v 62.5 grains 200 gr. Eldx Norma brass federal 215’s 3.20” COL @ 2850 from a 22” barrel. I tried H4350,H4831sc,H1000,H100v and N560. H100, H4350 and H100v were the most accurate and fastest.

Im doing a load work up myself with a 20” proof, 200gr ELDX, Norma brass, CCI 250, and H4350. 2.245CBTO. I’ll post my results so far.

I’m currently playing with loads in my 22” 300 WSM. 180 Accubonds with Ramshot Hunter. Not the fastest load but last 3 shot group was 2824, 2828, 2827 and all 3 in the same hole at 100. I was going to go with H4831sc but I have 8 lbs of Hunter so this is what I’m using. I played with H4350 and 168 Bergers with decent results as well.

I'm acquiring parts for a build and I'm between a 300prc and a 300wsm. Something about the WSM is calling me and this thread doesn't help! Wanting to do a 22" barrel with 215s or something similar.

Mine shot well with 71.5 gr. of the older H1000 (2850) but not the newer. it also shot well with 62.5 H4350 and H100v (200 gr. eldx 22" barrel). I chose H100v because it was more available and cheaper.

H4350 with 212 eld-x’s was the winner for me. Before I got my can (U7 Gen 1) it was shooting lights out with H4831sc at around 2740 fps. When I got the can, it bumped it up in pressure and was causing a lot of carbon build up, and stiff bolt lift. That was a stout load before the can, but I started dropping the charge weights and wasn’t liking the speeds. Gun is a Tikka with benchmark 22” steel barrel. Just under 500 rounds.

Had UM do a +P on it and when I got it back I tried H4350 after talking to Blaine. Found a great load at 61 grains shooting the 212 eld-x’s at 2805 20 shot average with good ES/SD. Thought doing a +P would have given me even more room to go up from 61, but I had mild pressure sign at 61.5 up to 62 so I decided to stick with 61. Doesn’t hurt that it’s shooting lights out and took a moose and two black bear two weeks ago like a frikin’ lazer beam!

My 300 WSM has a 25 inch barrel. Using IMR 4350 at 66.5 grains and getting 3030 fps at muzzle. 180gr. Sierra gamekings. In good conditions it's pretty tight with 1/2 inch groups at 100yds. Killed a handful of elk and a few mule deer bucks with it. Out to 500 yards on some of those and it kicked their ass. Hopefully there is something useful there for you...
