My new Tikka should be here next week along with some once fired brass. Everything else I have on hand including 200gr ABs, ELDx and Sierras.

The powders I have on hand are;
RL 23
RL 16
H1000
Ramshot Magnum
And just a touch of H4831 probably just enough for load developing.

I heard of people using H1000, but have yet to see load data.

IMR4451 uses H4350 data, that's another one to consider

I got some very accurate loads out of RL17 (took w/ me on a successful Muley hunt in 2019). I also achieved some very accurate loads using H100V and squeezed out a little bit more speed. Basically straight out of the Nosler load data. I didn't end up testing the temp stability though.

H100V
2.835" COAL
Fed 215
180gr Accubond
I don't remember the charge weight (I think 62gr) but I got 2950 fps out of a 24" tube.

My 7mm WSM really liked H4350. The speed SDs were phenomenal. I plan on starting there for my 7mm SAUM.

With the powders you have on hand I think RL23 would be a great place to start (also H4831). I wanted to test RL23 but couldn't find any before testing. Ive never tested H1000 but a lot of people like it.

Hope this helps.

I use RL19 but I’m just mimicking factory velocities I’m not pushing anything to the max and I bought a bunch of it before the newer powders came out. I have no complaints on performance and i can use it across more of my calibers so I have less powders laying around.

Second H4350. Rl17 not bad but I haven't had the success with heavies--have seen it work magic on 308 win with heavies though.

I got a jug of 6.5 StaBall, anybody have luck with that in 300 wsm?

The Hodgon site says Staball will work, it is going to be my choice when I start.

When I asked a rep at Alliant about RL17 for the 30.06, he recommended RL16 and said he uses it in his 300 wsm with "absolutely phenomenal success" (his words), so that may be worth taking a look at. Plus its one of their temp stable powders.

I have a couple lbs of Staball I plan on trying out in the next few weeks. This is my first 300 wsm, so I haven't tried anything else yet. I have a couple lbs of H4350 as backup in case it doesn't work out.

Share your results here when you have some. I think I will be able to make a run of 300wsm this weekend or next with Norma brass, staball/imr4451, and 175LRX.

I’d use RL16 and keep an eye out for RL26.

With RL26 I’m getting 2963ft/s shooting 215 Berger’s out of my 300wsm.

I've been reloading for the 300wsm for close to 10 years now. only caliber I've owned.
H4350 has worked in all 3 of my 300wsm for 178gr eldx and 180gr nosler AB doing around 3000fps with a 24" barrel. My current custom 300wsm with a 20" barrel is doing 2950fps with 178gr eldx.
H4831sc also worked really good with 180gr nosler AB but was only going around 2890fps very accurate though.
H4831SC works good with190gr nosler ABLR doing 2865fps
H4831SC also worked good with 200gr eldx doing 2820fps if i remember correctly.
H100V was also another good powder for 190gr nosler AB and 200gr eldx
