Who hunts with one.
I used to own one and loved it. One of those guns you miss when its gone.
I happen to know where a small batch off ammo is located along with some brass.

Maybe, I have thought about it. I used to have a Ruger Super Redhawk. I believe 7 1/2 in barrel.
With the Cast Performance cast bullet, I got 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards.
I shot a whitetail buck at 35 yards in the chest. Bullet traveled down the back bone and take out 8 inches of bone. When I skinned the deer, I found the bullet just under the hide on the deers butt.
It is a very wicked round.

But with everything in life, nothing last for ever and I had to sell it, along with 99% of all my guns to pay for a divorce.

Out of all the hunting pistols, I had 2 favorites. The Thompson Contender with a custom 300 Savage barrel and the 480 Ruger.

I had a couple Freedom Arms in 454 Casaul and 475 Linebough for a short while. They are great guns but a very good friend was in the market for a couple Freedom Arms for his boys and Freedom Arms had a waiting list to build so I opted to turn mine over to his care. I have enjoyed many years of hunting on 2 of his farms, in the long run, it was worth it.
