Belt worn bear repellant. Sweet Reeder BMF with holster, dies and some brass / bullets. Suggest reading Taffin Tests: The 500 Maximum and the Reeder BMF notes - this is a stout handgun plenty capable of driving a 425 WFN @ 1500+ FPS. That's a 300 grain 44 mag alongside the 500 Max in the pics for comparison.
Stainless, 5 shot, nice trigger, magnaported. Great shape, one raft frame rub on grip only cosmetic flaw I can find. Last time I checked wait was 6+ months from Reeder @ $2400.00.

This one will set you back $1800.00 net to me delivered to your FFL from an individual. Band-aids not included.

Glad to take more pics or answer any questions.

.510 I have 3 of these stretch frames by Gary. 2 BMF's just like this one in 475 Maximum and 500 S&W, both with 4" bbls and a Professional Hunter in 500 S&W with a 7.5" octa bbl. Its a nice revolver for the money. I wouldn't sell any of mine for that price.

I’m new to this so I’m not quite sure how it works, but it looks to me that the bmf pictured above is still up for sale, is that right? If so I’d really like to purchase.

I believe it may have sold on a different forum. It was a fantastic deal on a very nice revolver though. If I didn't already have 3 of them I would have taken it.

That’s too bad. I figured tho, seemed too good to be true. I’d really like to avoid that 6-8 month wait time but It’s looking like I have no other options

To be honest though, go for the 500 S&W vs the 500 Linebaugh Maximum.....the .500 vs .511 bullet choices greatly favor the .500 The brass is easier to get too...and a lot less expensive. 500 Max brass is almost impossible to get. There is no performance difference between the two. Honest again, just get the 500 Linebaugh if you must have the 511 because you will NEVER need or even want to shoot full house loads in either the 500 L Max or the 500 S&W in a short barreled single action. I tried it....you wont shoot more than 2 shots. Even full house loads in my 500 Linebaugh w/ a 5.5" barrel is more than enough and after 5 shots, thats it for me. However, if the 500 Max or 500 S&W is your desire go with a 7.5" bbl like my Professional Hunter..its a ton more pleasant to shoot. The stretch framed revolvers don't come up for sale very often as Gary don't make that many, and the ones built in a Ruger 357 Max frame are not anywhere near as beefy and strong as Garys. I think you might be waiting longer than the usual 6-8 months at this point, but sometimes he will pull a rabbit out of the hat. Good Luck.

I agree the 500 smith is definitely the more practical choice for the reasons you mentioned however I already have one along with both the 475 and 500 linebaugh, all of which I love. Unfortunately this has only fueled my interest in the maximums, specifically the 500, but finding ready to buy revolvers chambered in it have proven to be difficult. I have thought about picking up a 357 maximum and sending it in for the conversion but then again I’ve never really done anything like that before and I wouldn’t know who to go to. From what I’ve read there are only a few gunsmiths willing to do the conversion now days and Im not entirely sure that those sources are credible plus I’d much rather avoid the hassle and buy something that can get to me in a couple weeks but beggars can’t be choosers so I’ll stay on the lookout. I appreciate the input tho!

Having Gary build you one from his own stretch frames is a LOT less expensive than buying a ruger max and having it converted....and a ruger max will never be nearly as strong as Garys own stretch frames. I understand the interest, having 3 of them as well as the 475 and 500 Linebaughs. Personally, I would never trust either a 475max or a 500max in a ruger max frame. The longer that top strap, the weaker it is and that's why Garys is much thicker, and the steel alloys today are much stronger than the days of the ruger max.

Great info, much appreciated. I’ve been pretty set on the BMF anyways so that just confirms it for me. I’ll probably look around a little longer to see if I can get one that is readily available before I accept the 8 plus months of wait time. If you have any suggestions as to where I might find one I’d love to hear them.

Well, if you cant fine one in the 500 Max but can find one in 500 S&W, that could be a potential path. Buy it and send to Gary to rebarrel it and open up the cylinder holes. Done deal. I can guarantee you there were more stretch framed Reeder revolvers made in the Smith so should be somewhat easier to obtain....not easy, but easier.
