So I’m hunting bear this year and trying to decide on rifle to take. I have new 6.5-300 weatherby, 300 win mag , 257 weatherby, 240 weatherby, 7 mag, 7-08, 308, 30-06. Would like to take 6.5-300 weatherby and have 127g Barnes and 140g aframes.

Just take one you don’t have, excuse for another! Appears you may have an addiction haha

On a real note, Any of your 7mm/30 cal are appropriate, I would chose the Win Mag if it were me. Save the 6.5 for another day

I’d use the 7mm08 or 308. If u want any fur left for rug. Some of these others are good but some will blow the fur into the next state. They r not made of steel. Not tuff to penetrate either

only a 460 wby will work on modern bullet-resistant elk and bear. All of the elk/bear killed with 30-30/243/308/'06 and other various non-magnums will come back to life, and haunt the guys that used such pip-squeeky cartridges
