6 creed with 95 TMK thoughts

Building a lighter weight 6 creed with 18“ barrel and using my Ultra 7. idea is a nice lightweight rig for Wyoming mulies and antelope. And deer here in Indiana.

After reading the 223 77 TMK thread, I’m thinking the 95 TMK might be a great choice. Wanted to search and see if anyone has results to share with this bullet?

Thanks!

I've never used them, but shot 2 deer this year with the 130 gr 6.5 version. They did lots of damage, and worked well.

If I had a fast twist 6mm they would be one of the bullets I would try, for sure.

Following. I’m planning on doing the exact same build but with a 16” barrel paired up with my ultra 7

I think it would work great, I smoked a mulie at 500 last season with slightly lighter hammer hunters and there was no tracking.

Killed lots of deer size game with the 95 BTip.

Twas it me...I'd stick with that route.

Or go with the 108 ELD-M.

The 147 ELD-M in 6.5 has taught me what Form has preached here and other places:

Tipped match bullet in heavy for caliber weight pushed at normal velocities equals a very deadly combo. And accurate.

Interested in results on the 6mm 95s. I have a 6bra I am building as a lightweight deer gun. At slower velocities, it looks like the 95 doesn't give much up to the 105-108 inside 500 to 600 yards for hunting. I am gonna give them a try before I jump to higher. I have some Berger and TMK.

I have a 6CM with a 1/8 twist. Can say that 108 Berger EHs are very accurate and Berger's listed BC is spot on.

Always liked Sierra GKs and TMKs on game so saw the 90 GameChanger BC listed at .49 and got a batch put together a few months ago. They POI with my Berger EHs and get me around 3100+ fps mv. When I grouped them on a line at 600 yards they fell short enough on elevation to figure BC is sketchy. Am also seeing the same bullet more recently published as .39 BC, so there's that. Still easy enough to want to hunt with this fall. TGK is probably a better hunting bullet than TMK, tho all of the above will get the job done.

Ive heard of guys really liking the 95 TMK in a 6BR but there is a 100 gr Tipped Game King now that looks like a good choice for a 6CM hunting rifle.

Diggin this one up, any experience out there? I'm looking to launch some 95tmk or 100tgk (6cm) just hoping to find a bit of feed back.
thanks, mark

Seems like the biggest hurdle is going to be finding 95tmks in stock. I've been looking for a couple months now and haven't found any

The 95gr TMK’s are quite effective at killing, and destructive. The 100gr TGK is a tough, relatively minimally expanding bullet. They produce smaller wounds and kill slower.

TGK has thicker jacket than TMK making it a tougher bullet as Form stated.

My understanding is TMK jacket thickness is somewhere between ELD-M and ELD-X.

I’ve used 108 from 18” 6CM on whitetail…I plan on moving to TMK

Sierra is "putting resources mostly towards the most popular offerings, production timelines may be extended for less popular bullet offerings" is what I was told.

To revive this thread, ran some 95tmk through an 18" 7.5tw 6cm, using ts15.5 and CCI450 in Lapua, jumping 0.033" from touch. Shoots well at 3060, 3150 and 3250. 3250 is HOT, don't go there in this short a barrel.

*******Edit: This is NOT a saami chamber, freebore is only 0.100 long, this bullet in a saami would be dang near falling out the neck at touch. Im jumping modeate distances and there's maybe 0.120 of bearing surface in the neck.

40.0 3060,3044,3037 All touching!
40.4 095,083+ touching
40.8 116,113
41.2 137,150 tight
41.6 154,176 tight
42.0 202,204 light ejector marks
42.4 238,259 touching, light ejector marks
42.8 257,308 web expansion, bolt lift, HOT

I see no need to persue the upper nodes, so loading around 39.8 to 40.5 checking for best accuracy/SD. It's a short handy barrel and a tmk going 3k plus is plenty.

I see a few other bullets mentioned but I'm a little surprised nobody is using the 95gr Berger with their 6mm Creed.

I stumbled upon a few hundred of the 95gr TMK’s a while back. Plan on loading them soon and putting them into some hogs and deer
