Anyone have the Hornady Precision Hunter recipe or another one worth suggesting? Just got one for JR and looking for a long range target AND whitetail load.

Thanks

In one rifle I'm shooting ELD Match 108 gr and in the other I'm loading the 95 gr LRX Barnes.
Both are over 40 grs RL16.

Vern, how do you like the lrx in that caliber? I will be working up a load for my 6 creed and I was hoping to use that bullet. Do you happen to know what your COAL is?

I shoot Barnes TTSX and LRX in 4 different rifles/calibers and I no longer worry myself with seating depth. I seat all of them to the top groove as Barnes recommends a long jump. This works well in all of my rifles.

I’m running the 108 eldms with 43.7 grains of superproformance and the 88 grain hammer hunters I’d have to double check my data on the hammers

I've taken wolves and coyotes with the ELD-M but haven't hunted with the LRX yet. The 108 M works well on the two wolves and frontal chest shots on coyotes but a broadside shot on coyotes that hits bone is very destructive.

I'm hoping the LRX won't be quite as damaging to fur. I may try the LRX on caribou this fall.

I’ve had good luck with H1000 and the 105 Berger Hybrids so far. Taken a few antelope and some coyotes. My gun has a 28” tube, so keep that in mind with the slower powder. Getting right at 3k FPS.

The 103 eld-x was my first bullet choice when my 6CM was new. I gave up after hard fought battles to get the eld-x to work consistently through my 6CM and 7RM. Just didn't work for me.

Now shooting 175 Berger EHs in my 7RM and 105 VLDs in my 6CM. Just need a couple eval days to fine tune the right 105 loading.

My 240W's bullet is the 80 TTSX. A big fan so a 95 LRX for a 6m deer bullet gets my #1 vote.

My experience with the eld-x just too weird/no trust.

I’d be game to try the Berger’s- have shied away hearing they’re super accurate but not great for terminal performance

Have a 7mmrm that I don’t have a pet load for either...

I shoot hornady 105gr bthp with 39.5 grains of imr 4155 and have been great results speed hovers right around 3050 in a 24in barrel with an silencerco omega suppressor.

You can load up nosler partitions for shooting deer. Josler has the basics on their website.

I'm playing w 243 and fighting the urge to go to 6 CM. 100 gr partition at 3050 is a heck of a pill for deer. Kid shouldn't be shooting 500 yds so those long range bullets aren't necessary.

I shoot Hornady 108 ELD Match bullets with 41.5 grains of IMR4350 getting a velocity of 3060 out of a 26" barrel. I shoot Berger 105 VLDs with 41.1 grains of RL19 if im shooting suppressed.

Are you having good results with the 108s I've tried them in 2 different barrels along with some factory ammo that was loaded with them and I could never get them to shoot better than .75 in groups.

My best group was just under .4 in. I had a handful of groups under .5 in. The reason I shoot the Berger’s in because with my suppressor on it opened my groups up to .75-1 in depending on the loads. Switch to the 105s and RL19 and groups came back down it .3-.4. My best group with the 105s was right at .25 made one ragged hole. I haven’t shot the 105s at any distance yet but the 108s shot good out to 1000 yds. I’ve got a coyote at 600 and it gets boring shooting at it with the 108s. All the 108s I was shooting were actually factory seconds from midway.

I see I was only running the 108s with a silencerco omega can and the groups were terrible but using the 105 bthp I was getting almost constant .3 -.4 groups

Just rebarreled my 6x47L into a 6mm Creed. Right now I am running the factory load Hornady Black and getting under 1/2moa at 100 with consistent velocities measured by a Labradar. Im a huge Berger fan so once I start to reload 6mm I am leaning toward the 105's. Im running a 28" Bartlein with a 1:7.5 twist.

Wish we could run suppressors here - but NY doesn’t allow anything but handouts and open arms to people wanting handouts
