I have seen two lots of H1000 behave differently. I would have to look back at my notes, but I think I hit pressure @ 64.5-65 on the first lot. Second lot hit pressure around 63.5.

You should see 80-100 ft./s barrel speed up once you get closer to 100 rounds down the pipe.

Been shooting the last few days. Shot some seating depth tests at 62.2gn and was in the 2770 range this morning so it’s speeding up. I’m at around 80 shots with it now.

I’m also working on my 280ai with the 162 Eldx. Haven’t got them or the 175’s to shoot under an inch in these 2 rifles. Anyone have advice on seating depth for these?

Local shop has a bunch of Berger 180 VLD hunters so I grabbed some to try as well. Only issue is I’ll have to jump them a ways.

I’m jumping my 180 eldm a mile. No issues with the jump but also don’t have much advice because of the distance I’m jumping.

My SAUM loves those 180 VLDH with a big jump. You lose case capacity so I've had better success with H4831SC over H1000.
I wont lose any case capacity due to the long throat but with the boattail junction at the base of the neck I will be jumping something like .09 if I remember right.

I load for a 7 SAUM, but can’t help you with the bullet weight you’re using. ☹️

I’m using 160 grain Accubond and Partitions in mine.

Made progress today with the 175's and H1000. Dropped my charge .5gn and did a seating depth test. Loaded off the lands .02, .05, .09 and .11. 3 of the 4 shot under .75". The .05 shot 1.2". I just did 3 shots at each depth. Velocity spreads were high though, like 40fps. Im going to try going back up a few 10's on the charge just to see what happens.

I run 210m. Not sure if the mag primers matter?

I've read of people hitting pressure a little sooner with mag primers in short mags but not personally experienced it.

210M is my default choice for everything short mag and smaller until i see reason to change.

I may have to try the 210M. I have had a lot of groups with 2 shots about touching and the 3rd about an inch away. As mentioned my friend had the same groups with his 338 Laupa and switching to 210M primers reduced the flyers in his groups. Totally different cartridges but it is probably worth trying the 210M.
