65 gr R22 and Nosler Accubond 160 @ 3070fps 26" barrel. That is my go to.

I also really like R22 and Partitions 160 and 175 gr.

61gr of RL-22 under 160 Accubonds are my go to loads. I get them 2,945fps from my 28" X-Bolt.

I handload 162 ELDx with two bulls and a cow taken with them..RL 22 is what my gun likes. Also taken a couple mule deer out to 400 yds with them. Never needed a follow up shot.
I've been using 140 grain rounds. Do you think I should get a heavier bullet?

A 140 GR will do the trick as long as it’s placed correctly and you use a good bullet. I use the 162’s because they shoot well out of my rifle and I’m still able to keep a decent velocity with them.

Barnes were a tad better than the eld’s and Berger’s in my rifle. Really like the way they perform on the animal as well. Might be worth trying before you settle

Barnes 150’s shoot good out of my rifle too..I use those here in CA due to the lead ban..I’m sure they would be equally good for elk..just haven’t seen a reason to go away from the ELDx and they are quite a bit cheaper

I am in the rl22 camp as well. I have been having good luck with the 175 ablr with rl22 from the nosler manual or close to that. Had great success with the 168ablr and retumbo, but can't find that anywhere so those loads are saved now.... 160 SGK's with rl 22 is very accurate as well.

Ive only shot about 30 rounds of development with this new 7mag, but so far Im getting really good results with 69.5 grains of RL26 and the 180VLD at 3110fps. I havent seen any pressure signs so Im going to see if I can push it up to 70.5, which will push it at 3150ish, but Ill have to see what the pressure is like on the way up. Tomorrow Ill be shooting the 195EOL from 65-68 in .2increments to see how it like that one.. Im loading both to 2.722 CBTO

Ive shot ELDXs in two rifles with multiple different weights and couldn't get them to pattern. I don't have 7mm mag now but I do have a 7mm WSM with a 1:9 twist. It shot the 168 ABLRs well but really liked the 168 Berger Classic hunters / Hybrids.

I really like IMR 8133 in my 7 mag. you might also look into the newer terminal ascent bullets from federal. Awesome bullet.

I also shoot 160gr Accubonds on RL22. Been shooting that for a long time now. This past weekend, I tried some Retumbo and H-1000. But the RL22 continued to shoot better groups. I'll just stick with that. We have killed several elk with that combination. I'm going to try it again this October.

My X-bolt shoots the 160gr Accubonds at 2,945fps using 61gr of RL-22

I believe I have 28" barrel though and I don't think they sell them that long anymore.
