Did a quick ladder test this weekend with H4350, ADG Brass, Barnes 145 LRX, CCI 200 primers, 22” barrel, seated .120 off the lands.

Started seeing slight ejector marks at 57.0 of H4350

Landed at 56.5 at ~2905

Results below, no heavy bolt lift but ejector marks became more apparent after 57.0

54.5 - 2818 2784
55.0 - 2844 2830
55.5 - 2850 2849
56.0 - 2877 2882
56.5 - 2917 2901
57.0 - 2922 2932
57.5 - 2962 2958
58.0 - 3001 2982
58.5 - 3028 3036
59.0 - 3028 3051

Seems a little slow. I don’t like ejector marks because they seem to lead to loose pockets. I run 145gr CEB lazers at 3000fps in a 20” barrel with room to go up.

Thanks for posting! SAAMI chamber?

@StopMakingSense I shoot 150gr Badlanda Bulldozers with 56.5 gr of H4350 out of a 22” SAAMI chambered 7 SAUM, so a very similar combo. My MV is 2905, so I could probably push it a bit more. According to Gordon’s reloading tool around 58.5 gr and 3011 FPS is where I start to go over 65,000 PSI. So given that, I wouldn’t push it any further on your end personally. Pressure signs can be finicky, and you are already above what Barnes publishes for both 140 and 150 gr bullets (59.0 and 56.5 gr H4350 respectively.)

So far, accuracy has been good enough I haven’t felt the need to get the extra 100 FPS. I’m still clocking 2000 fps at 700 yards at my hunting altitude, and the bull I shot at 540 this year didn’t seem to care. Not burning up an expensive proof barrel too quickly is an added bonus.

New suppressor is on the way hopefully before next fall that will shift my nodes, so I might push up to 58.5 and see how things look. Either way your data is helpful to know what to expect.

I’d pick a load above 2900 FPS that shoots the best and call it good.

How was it running cci 200’s over the 250’s? I’m setting up a new 7 saum and have limited access to 250’s, but can get lots of the 200’s.

If it fits it ships? They seem to work great for me, no problems to speak of. I also used 450’s for my Dasher just because that’s what everyone else did but I was happy to use 400’s

Got out yesterday to do alittle testing with H4350. It's looking promising.

Great info in this thread.

I've been running 180 Hybrids over a stiff load of H1k from a 20 inch barrel.

Planning to start working up some 155 Hammers over H4350. After reading this thread, I'm going to run a ladder with the 180 Hybrids and H4350.

Good to hear, I’ll probably have to go that route as well. Thanks for the info!

Tikka with 22” benchmark carbon
Berger 180 hybrids
55.5 H4350
210M primers
2760fps

Tried both 215M and 210M, at distance 210’s grouped better for me but lost a little velocity.

Consistently a 1/2” or under gun. I may revisit the load with N565 for more velocity, but this one isn’t near any pressure and so consistent I may just run it.

Headed to try H1000 and H4350 today. H4831 was decent but lacked the velocity I was looking for. Shooting 168 VLDH with H1000. 162 ELD-M with H4350.

Will post up results later.

24" proof barrel with 45 rounds down the tube.

I settled on IMR 7828 with 150 scirocco II in my 22" Mike Rock 8 twist. Fed 210m Norma brass.
3010fps easy. Also same load with a lapua scenar in 150 at 3080fps.
Have ran every from 140's to 180's and tried H100O H4831 H4530 Rl17 Rl26 nothing beats IMR7828 except IMR7977 but it's like hens teeth. IMG_0812.jpeg70259733626__36576074-0CFD-4AF8-A894-E5D4A650B2AB.jpeg

H4350 with 162 eldm's got to 2860 at max load with slight bolt swipe.

4 Shot average with H1000 and 168 vldh at 66.2 grains was 3032 fps. Way more than I was expecting to get, especially with no swipe and decent looking primers. This group was .497".

Similar setup to @Ucsdryder , long throated tikka 7 SAUM, 22" barrel
59.2 gr H4350
ADG brass
145 CEB lazer
3025 ish FPS

Cool thing with this bullet is no messing around with seating depth, seat the drive band right in front of the case mouth without touching it and rock on.
Thanks, I’ve got a SAAMI chamber. I might do a ladder up to 58.5 from 56.5 and see what that gets me. I’d like to get to 3000.
