I own a Kifaru 8-Man. Good unit x 8 years now, mostly used in central Alaska. I can't find a down side to this unit, unless it's price. It has given me zero minutes of grief. For my uses it lacks nothing in the way of needed features. I have the liner and consider it mandatory in condensation-prone climates. A liner will keep moisture off you, your sleeping bag, your gear and basically everything. A half-liner would save weight but likely no more than several ounces. Versus the potential to wish my tipi was 100% dry, I'll take the weight and a full liner. Definitely a premium setup and enough hardcore durability to go many, many years.
