Good afternoon, I found some wsf for sale a couple weeks ago and ordered a couple pounds and am trying to get a good load put together. From what I’m seeing people are using 5.2-5.7 grains for a 115gn fmj. But the Oals are so different
What’s the best way to go about finding a good oal? Should I try 3 different ones and see which one shoots the best? I started with 5.2 grains and have the bullets seated at 1.169 which is the max oal and it’s much longer than factory rounds I compared them to.
Also would you guys throw out brass that is 3/100ths short or is it okay to use
Now I know why people swear by separating different brands of brass as they’re not all the same!!!

Do a plunk test with the rounds you loaded to make sure they will chamber. Also see if the round will freely spin in the chamber. If it passes then see if it fits in your mag and will feed properly. I have factory rounds that vary between 1.15 and 1.60.
