My son’s hunt starts Saturday here in Idaho. I’ve killed a few with my bow over the years, but am a relative novice.

This buck is in an area we can hunt and he’s been in a relatively small area on a consist basis. In my mind he’s a good buck for Idaho and a fine representation of the species. Am I wrong for thinking this would be a good one to try for?

Looks about like the one I shot in 2019 in Wyoming, my first antelope and I am very satisfied with him. His head now graces my wall, Seems like he is about 14-15 in. high or a bit more, decent cutters, a nice tip curl and nice bases, I would not pass on this one.

Your not wrong at all! He's decent buck for sure, not huge but a nice one. Like others have said he curls in nice. He does lack mass up top and his cutters are low. But if he get your son excited then go for it! No reason to start the numbers game at a young age.
He's a good looking buck and a great one for someone's first.

Good buck in my opinion, especially if it's your son first pronghorn. Good luck.

I would say yes, given the chance I would shoot him. Good buck. He is tall with a nice curl but seems to have weak cutters. Good luck, hope he gets him.

That looks like a great buck for Idaho! There aren't many B&C bucks in Idaho and he lacks a few things to make B&C. Score isn't everything. Have a great time and enjoy the time you spend together!

For better or worse, he punched his tag. We had a fantastic morning and worked hard to get the shot. Rowdy hit him perfectly at 540 yards. Beautiful shot and a pretty fair Idaho buck.
Nice buck! Love the black face. Where’d he hit him? I don’t see a hole on that side. No pass through?
