Had a chance to visit Black Widow today!
I've been fumbling around with a Hill style longbow for a while (years) with dismal success. I really thought shooting a traditional bow was supposed to be hard!
Well the guys let me try a few PL longbows and I couldn't believe how awesome of a shot I really am when I have a better for me bow! Couldn't miss! I was consistently shooting soft ball sized groups at their little range. Previously this week with my Hill style my groups at 20 could barely fit on a pizza box.
I tried a few curves but I really liked the familiar light feel of a Hill style. If I ever find a used curve I'd snatch it right up!
The "Toby" grip felt great and they had a two piece in a 54@28 62“. A lot lighter than I'm used to, but this bow is so much faster and smoother. They had a 60# but it was a 64" and I really don't want that much length. I can't believe how still in the hand this is! Very little shock! Also these draw a lot better! My 60#'s I've had draw very hard, it's a lot of work to get back to full draw even mid summer and shooting a lot. But that 60 they had was significantly easier.
Can't wait for spring bear back home!
