I got an accura MR the other day and been trying some different loads with the Barnes 290 TEZ bullet. So far 110 grains by volume of BH 290 has given me the best results. Just wondering if anyone who has chronographed their muzzleloader loads might know what this gun is shooting speed wise with the 25” barrel. I’ve seen velocities listed by BH but have no idea what barrel lengths they have used to obtain those or how real world those are. Have no idea in the muzzleloader world how velecities vary from 27” to 25” to 30” barrels. Thank you for any help.

I have the same gun and setup. I saw velocities around 1945-1978 FPS shooting 110Gr (volume) and Barnes 290-T-EZ's. 110 shot the best by far. I had decent 3- 3 1/2" groups out at 300yds.

PAhunter, very good to know, I was guessing it would be 1850-1870fps, so sounds like I’m probably getting possibly 100 FPS more than what I was figuring. Thank you

For colorado I was running 300gr Harvester Sabertooths with 80gr (by weight) BH209-- ran 1850fps @ 9500ft, 50 degrees.

Took a cow elk and muley buck with that combo-- each 100 yard shots- pass through (both shoulders) on muley and stopped under cow offside skin after both shoulders with 191gr retained weight.

Just ran a buddy's chronograph this weekend. Shooting Barnes TEZ 290 grain in front of 110 grain (by volume BH209). I saw 1935-1955 FPS with my CVA Accura MR (25" barrel).
