Adirondacks, NY……Ever heard or seen wolves?

Anyone ever see or hear a wolf up there?
Read some stuff on it once. Obviously it’s treated the same way lion sightings are in PA. Just wondering if any locals can chime in.

Well a lot of the genetic makeup of the eastern coyote is being traced back to wolf DNA over the western coyote. Originally it was thought that the coyotes used the bridges across the Mississippi to make the resurgence back east, but now it looks more like they might have worked around the great lakes region and interbred with wolves. The eastern coyote is definitely a different animal than it's western relative.



Guess it needs to be decided just how many species of wild canids it really is, and what exactly they all are. Then can be decided what everything is.

Makes sense to me. Didn’t know if true blue wolves ever wander down from Ontario. I think people see moose every now and then in certain areas. Where there are moose, wolves usually aren’t far. Just learning.

Damn what a coincidence
