I have been working on a lightweight 6.5-06 AI and the last piece for this puzzle was a solid, lightweight stock. I am a big fan of Tikka actions and like to have rifles built on them when the length works. Since there aren't all that many aftermarket stocks available (campared to a Rem 700 action) I was excited when I heard that AG Composites was going to be building a couple different options.

Rifle Specs:
Tikka T3 action with factory bottom plastic and magazine
Bolt fluted (can't remember the company that did it)
18.5" Fluted McGowen barrel chambered in 6.5-06 Ackley Improved
Gen 1 Micro Bastard muzzle brake
AG Composites Privateer stock
Talley lightweight, one piece rings with top bubble level
Nikon M5 riflescope

The rifle was built by Whaley Precision and the Ceracoating was done by Sowastrong Industries.

I haven't worked up a load for this rifle yet but I think I'm going to shoot either the 130 or 140 Bergers. I did shoot some of my loads for my other 6.5-06 AI and they are running 2950 with 147 ELD-M over R26. I was getting pretty good accuracy out to 600 yards too.

I have it all torn apart to install a couple Javelin Bipod adapters. I should have it all back together this week and will try to get some pictures before I go bear hunting.

Curious to see how those adapters work with that stock. I have a rifle being built right now and didn’t go the ag composite route because they told me they couldn’t guarantee their fill would support them? I thought that strange at the time. Maybe they didn’t have any formal testing done at the time. I hope it all works out.

I got the inserts epoxied in today. I think there will be plenty of support. One thing I will do different on the next one is put the fwd insert in place of the sling swivel stud instead of behind it.

Glad to hear it worked out alright. Good call on the placement. I thought about that too with mine. Hopefully the smith puts the front adapter fwd of the flush cup so the sling isn’t constantly in the way. I would love to see some pics whenever you get a chance.

Should have looked at wildcat composites out of Alberta. I’ve used 2 on tikkas. Build weight is around 18oz. That was my .300wsm

I've talked to them a few times before. It sounds like they build some great stocks as well.

Looks great!

I’m thinking agc privateer, HCA’s new tikka magazine and two proof tikka prefits. One in 6.5 prc and one in 300wsm.

Now I just need my budget to catch up to my day dreams.

I'm doing something similar. Tikka w/ WTO switchlug, HCA mag and summit barrel in 6.5 PRC, with plans to do a 300wsm barrel down the road.
