Agreed. Lugging 80-100 lbs of meat each trip through face slashing willows/alders, one river crossing after another, while mucking through tusocks is a total mthrfkr. I can only imagine the pain of having one die in water or mud. God must love the fool who can endure the suffering.

Why would anyone ever want to endure that kind of suffering? Just shoot them on the gravel bar!! I think that it might be one one of the easier ways to fill the freezer.

I often use a 6.5 SAUM 4s for most of my hunting, I have shot my last 4 moose with it. It propels a 127 Barnes LRX at 3222. All one shot closest was @ 5< yards charging out to 327 yards. The 338 with 225 TTSX does not drop them any faster. You will be just fine with a 300WSM!

I've taken several moose and interior grizzly bears with a 30-06. A 300 WSM is plenty for both. The 175 gr Barnes should work great, just don't shoot them in the ass.

I have used the 300wsm with 200g lrx's to take moose and elk with great success. You will be happy with it.

Phenomenal performing bullet . Outstanding performance and weight retension at a very wide velocity spread. My buddy and I got 2 moose with these in a 300wsm at 3000 fps, and I have a pile of whitetails and two bears with them as well. 50 yds to 500 plus it works really well.
