Alice Pack pvc frame

Anyone make/use one of these frames in cold weather? how do they preform. what would be a good light alternative.

Are you talking DIY PVC or one of the polymer issue frames? i have used a polymer frame. They are an improvement over the old aluminum rig but not ideal. If I were looking for a very capable upgrade, i would look for an MR NICE frame. They will haul an Alice pack or ILBE in style.

Yikes. No idea. I have seen some bushcarfters post videos of making them. I have tried a couple of pvc DIY projects before for shooting stands and such. I can say I have crushed and broken enough pVC pipes in my day that I wouldn’t want to count on it to haul a load, cold or not. Those GI polymer frames are $10 at a surplus store.

Ok, thanks. Have pack horses so don't need it to haul out, just wanted a little support for me.
May keep my MR Guide light frame and sell the pintler bag.
