I have a new Tikka lite stainless in 300WM, and have struggled to find quality factory ammunition it fires accurately. I’ve tired Federal TBT (180g), Trophy copper (180g), and Terminal Ascent (200g). It shot Winchester super X (180g) well, but I don’t like it for hunting at extended ranges. I’m hoping to use it for elk this fall. Anyone find anything their Tikka really likes? Thanks for your thoughts.

Try Nosler 180gr trophy grade. I had a rem 700 that was finicky too and for some reason that one was the ticket.

Likely a 1:10 twist, try some 165-168 fodder before you waste more $$ on heavier loads.

What scope and rings are you using? Wondering if your scope is the issue at all.

My Tikka 300WM hasn’t had any issues being picky about ammo. Also when you say not shooting well, are you not getting sub MOA groups?

Been shooting a .300WM T3 Lite for years. 180g Swift Scirocco 2 is a fantastic round for this rifle. I hand load them but Federal makes a factory, premium round with this bullet.

I had a this issue with my tikka 300wm. I had to shoot 150-165 gr stuff to get 1/2 minute results. I took the barrel off and converted to 6.5prc.

Not Tikka but my X Bolt shoots the Barnes 165’s very good. But you can’t find them so there’s that. I have one box left.

I've got a Tikka T3 in the 300 WSM and shoot HSM Sierra Berger VLD's in the 168 gr. I've taken a bunch of elk, deer, and bear with it. Groups well and is deadly. They also come in 185 gr. I've ordered through their website and also bought at Cabela's and both are very reasonable; especially compared to the XP3's which I used to shoot for years until I switched over.
