Annex or not with the Megatarp

I am getting ready to order a megatarp and trying to decide if I should get the annex or not. I have read through and searched a lot and not really found much info as to if people use the annex very much or not.

Will be using it in Wyoming from 9k to 11k elevation
Like the idea of it to block any wind or rain that might be coming in.
Won't have a stove. May get one later.


what are you experiences? Do you have one and use it/ not use it or do you not have one and wish you did or get along just fine.

I have a supertarp an annex. Use the annex about 50% of the time. Annex is great for bad weather.

X2...it is nice to beable to close up when needed.

I have a mega with an annex. If your going to use it in the winter, spring or late fall it's a must. Along with the small or medium stove and your set for any condition.

I Prefer the annex. I actually wish it was available as a sewn in option like the paratipi. Carrying the extra weight of the annex and a few extra pegs doesnt bother me.
