Yes - seriously. I'm having a custom hunting rifle build done with a proof carbon barrel and mesa altitude stock. I have narrowed down my color for the action, bolt and barrel ends to plain old boring black. I obviously don't want something super shiny, but I also don't something that looks completely dead and flat.

As far as black cerakote goes, right now graphite black seems to be the front runner and also appears to be a popular choice. Any other shades of black in the cerakote lineup that I should consider before giving my final answer to the builder?

You can adjust the sheen and texture through hardener and spray within the color.

Sniper grey and graphite black are never a bad choice.

Could do the receiver black, then match the bolt and barrel ends in any darker variation of grey.

Or, the receiver and barrel ends Sniper Grey, bolt black.
