I just thought I'd share the new stove I built for my tent. I have a cylinder style stove but wanted one with a flat top.

I built it similar to a few stove builds here on Rokslide but I put a front flat panel on for the vent and door. It's like the old Ruta Locura stove I believe.

I got to set it up over the weekend to do the first burn in it. It ran me out of the tent.

That’s a great looking stove! Love the flat top on mine. Cooked off it for a week the last hunt it was used on.

Your thread on your build was what i referenced a lot for this one. Thank you for that.

That’s awesome glad to hear it helped out! I learned a ton from old threads on diy stoves myself glad to pass along some experience.

what are your dimensions and overall weight? Looks like a nice big volume for long burns. I have mostly used my larger stove, it is nice to have volume for bigger pieces of wood and larger coal base.

That is an awesome looking stove. Look way more durable then my titanium one. What is the approximate weight and dimensions when dissembled?

The top and bottom plates are 11"x17". I put a 3/8" lip around the outside of the plates and spot welded little pieces with a 90° bend around the edges to sandwich the sidewall and hold it near the edges.

The front plate with the door is around 9" wide by 12" tall. It fits between the top and bottom plate when disassembled.

The side wall is 12" wide titanium foil. I'm not sure on the length, I just put it in place and cut it where I needed it.

The legs are 18" long. I cut two 3 foot long all threads in half. The legs fit diagonally in-between the top and bottom plate when it is disassembled.

I will get a weight one of these days. It's probably heavier than my little cylinder stove but it has a lot more volume as well. Split with a buddy, tent in one pack and the stove in another, I don't think it will be too bad.

I did sew up a pouch for it. It holds the stove pipe rings, damper, spark arrestor and fire starter cotton balls in the front pocket. The top and bottom plates, front plate, legs and rolled up pipe and sidewall fit in the main pouch. It's not pretty but it is functional.

It worked perfect to keep a hot tent and dry some gear after hiking in the rain for a while. It was nice to not have to put on wet clothes and gear to hunt the next day.

I built it all out of titanium, minus the hinges. They are stainless.

I have roughly 42" of titanium foil I left over I should sell to someone wanting to build one. It's plenty for a stove body.
