My friend and I put in for some public (easy to draw) land in Colorado, where I thought success of harvesting would be low. To my surprise we both killed day 1. Fun hunt and got to air out the GAP’s.

The buck that still has its prongs is really nice!
That one is me. I was just happy to get it done on hard to get too public land. Easy to draw tags normally are accompanied by difficult and limited access.

Lol. For the record the zip tie buck is my friends. The reason why- we shot both bucks from a ways out and the wind was crazy. He wasn’t aiming for the head but him square in the face. The other side of the face is gone and it looked better with a zip tied jaw rather than it hanging off. If you’re going to miss the head is a good option.

I might add - mine had 6.5PRC sized hole through the heart. And yes I teased him all week.

I kinda figured it was something like that.

I was at a taxidermist in WY last week and they were prepping a bunch of goats for euro mounts and one was sitting there that had a deformed face. I thought it was just deformed from birth but they told me that’s what happens when you about them in the face. It was crazy looking.

Awesome congrats. A friend and I are looking to do the same thing next year. Hopefully research will help us find something similar.
