Shot a nice bull in Alaska this year on September 15. When I got home he was around 61.5". Measured yesterday and he was closer to 60". Never knew the width would narrow up that much when drying. Anyone else ever notice that much?
That's why B&C requires a drying period prior to scoring and why Alaska's wildlife troopers don't often write tickets for marginal trophies .........the trooper and DA don't want to waste their time in court.
heck yeah, i shot a 50" with 2 brows on each side two years ago and he's 49" now stretchin the tape.
I drove by a guy's house this year and my kids noticed antlers with sand bags hangin off each antler. They asked, "why does that rack have bags of dirt hanging off it?" LOL. I suppose it could work to keep or stretch the length a bit.
