Any body running a kowa 501

Looking for a entry level spotter and found this. Any body running one and like it. Also open to other suggestions for a small affordable spotter

I just got a 602 and I am pretty floored by the quality. I don’t anticipate needing to upgrade in the future for my uses. Paid $500 on eBay and have seen similar deals. Just a hair over 2lbs and clear pretty much up to 60x.

Here’s a pic of an osprey at 60x right about sunset through my iPhone (no adapter, need to get one still).

do you like the straight or do you wish you had a angled spotter. I will definately check this model out too

I’m fine with straight. My experience has only been with straight spotters and I have no problem with them.

I bought my 501 from Doug and I'm very happy with it. It's very small and lightweight.

I have the 504, a seemingly little known Kowa scope that may be of interest. It has a 15-30 zoom (non-removable) eyepiece and also has ED glass.

It actually isn't bad at all and is even possible to handhold. I used it this morning in fact in a vain attempt to catch the offshore Red Necked Pharalope passage (I was a day or so too late).
