A 10ga semi auto will recoil less than a 3.5' 12ga in most instances due to the weight of the 10ga. Coming from a guy who spent a lot of time behind a Browning Gold 10ga I'd rather shoot it any day over a 3.5' 12ga. Admittedly I went the opposite way the last few years and have went almost exclusively 20ga for anything with feathers

I have a browning bps 10 gauge. I keep it in reserve for tough days... the rest of the time I use my youth model 410.

Ten gauge seems to work a bit better than my 12 gauge 3.5”. Not sure why. I believe I’ve killed a turkey with just about every gauge, and a pile with a bow. Anything will work within it’s limitations. Just plan your setups accordingly.

I hunt them with a bps 10 Not sure how you would get those to someone though, unless you camo'd them some.

10 ga has a lower chamber pressure than a 12 3.5, couple that with the extra weight most ten gauges have and you have a fair amount of less recoil for same size payloads. When the 12 3.5 was developed it was actually to a higher Sami spec.

10 will almost always out pattern a 12 because of the larger bore diameter.

I would turkey hunt with my gold 10 buy I have always just carried my bow.

I also hunt with a browning bps 10 gauge time to time. Depends on how and where I'm hunting that makes me reach for a bow/12/10....or i just borrow a buddies 20 gauge. That seems to work too
