Anybody Else Having Failure to Feed with Tikka mags?

For folks with the factory 4-round, they disassemble super easy and stretching the spring worked perfectly for me. It was getting inconsistent in holding the rounds high enough for the bolt to strip it out of the mag, but literal 2 minute fix and it's been trouble free for several hundred rounds now.

Not for me. 3 of them, all new.

I’m putting my new .223 together right now. Grabbed a couple factory 6 rnd mags when I got the rifle a couple weeks back. Decided I’d load up the two 6 rounders and the 4 rnd and cycle through them to check…
One of the 6 rnd mags, one time, failed to grab the first round.

There is something seriously wrong with beretta usa
The rest of the world has been getting the upgraded 223 magazines with the steel insert for at least 5 years

That’s right. They are available to order from the UK for around $70 US. They still are 2.26 long though. Unfortunately their arrogance limits Sako from correcting the situation.

I do not. I have a bunch of M magazines as well and have swapped springs. Same outcome.
With the 223 there are two things that stand out to me in failure to feed when messing around with things. The mag rear sitting low compared to the action bottom so the case isn't up high enough for the bolt to grab. The follower rear is low in the magazine itself. Which are you seeing? If its the rear of the follower pinch that first spring bend below the follower together some so its permanently a bit lower of an angle. If that angle is too big it can push the front of the follower up all the way while the rear droops a bit still.

Its something to check out.

Mine all hang on the “feed lips”. Like if they used a real spring instead of that butter soft stainless contraption it would work. If I stretch them, they go right back to the state they started in. I have reshaped the lips to no avail.

The top of the magazine itself gets squeezed in the magazine well. I’ve relieved the sides of one mag and I made it worse. More squeeze might be better. I haven’t tried that yet.

Exactly. Where are our Rokslide Tikka shills? I’m pissed.

Well as of now I’m rethinking my build.
I guess I missed this shit.
No sure why they get all the hype if you can’t count on them unless it’s for practice.

Don’t be so dramatic, they are magazines not a first born child.
Yes there is an issue in the 223 mags the last couple of years- that I was the first to post about on here. However- all magazines are wear items- all of them for every mag ever made. It is stupid that Beretta USA hasn’t corrected it, but it also isn’t the end of the would either. There 3-4 different mags that work just fine; mags that should be bought regardless.

Sometimes it takes a little drama to get an industry off their collective asses. Unfortunately everything the Finns make is already perfect so others have filled the gap as you’ve stated.

I was able to fix a couple factory tikka 223 mags by taking out the spring, then using those springs in ascensionindustries.co mags. Then tossing the tikka mags in the trash. Worked perfectly 😆

Yes. Mine arrived today. Amazing that a kid with a 3D printer cares enough to make one that works for the NA market but Sako does not. They feed saami and long COAL with equal enthusiasm.
