Anyone ever put an Outdoorsmans' Pistol Grip on a KDC tripod?

I am intrigued by the thought of locking the KDC ballhead up tight and then threading on an Outdoorsmans' panner and pistol grip for binos, and even my light Kowa 502 spotter. Wondering if anyone has found fatal flaws in that? Total weight on the KDC would still be 32 oz or less.

I tried and it’s just too much for it. I’d just use their ball head with a panner, worked really well together. It just holds the weight to high for the little legs, it does better when you keep the center of gravity as close to the top as you can.

Would using the counterweight string with something hanging from it help maybe?

I didn’t think it would, I set it up and quickly unassembled, just didn’t like the feel of it.
