Anyone from Boise?

I'm here on business for a few days with my wife and kids. I'm looking for things to do that are a must see and possibly quick hikes locally. What would you recommend?

Ridge to Rivers

This will show you all the hiking trails around Boise. The Old Penitentiary and Oregon Trail are pretty cool places.

Yeah, was gonna say the old penitentiary. There are some decent hikes you can access from the parking lot as well.

Camels back part on N13th is a good walk. Walk up from the right side, over, and choose a trail to the right and keep on walking up the draw, then meander your way back.

Unfortunately, no. I like the Basque market or Txikiteo if grabbing drinks and tapas with friends, but I should find an oppurtunity to head to Meridian for dinner some night.

I would also check out the Whitewater Park/Quinns Pond area and Greenbelt. Not sure how old your kids are but the MK Nature Center can be fun for the younger ones. As others have said if you want to hike, most of the trails in the foothills will get you to a nice view of town.
