I know people who do but.....

I find command shooting is far better than a surprize release.

When I shoot a target that moves I need to control when the shot goes off.

If you control a hinge then you are using it incorrectly.

Just my opinion on the topic

I know of 2 or 3 people that hunt with them and have no problem. Personally I wouldn't because sometimes you have to do a controlled squeeze or punch or your opportunity will be missed. I find this is the case especially in thick vegetation and the animal is very close. Randy Ulmer stated he doesn't use a back tension for hunting because of this very reason.
