You probably know as well as I do that every day of the Colorado archery season the elk are pressured

Tough to argue that!
However.. in my experience, opening morning, the elk are still in vacation mode.
If you know their summer patterns, they’re typically super easy to find opening morning.
That seems to change pretty quickly, either due to pressure or natural urges.
It doesn’t matter if it’s otc or familiar draw spots...opening morning, I know where to be to see elk.
2nd, 3rd week, not so much.
