Anyone send a Rifle back to Remington for trigger recall?

It appears I have a Remington 700 that falls under the trigger recall. Has anyone on here ever had to do this and if so how did it go? With Remington being sold recently is this still even an option or should I just put a Timney or Jewell trigger in it and call it a day?

Thanks and that's why I asked. Any leads on a good deal on aftermarket triggers? Will be a hunting rig mostly.

Remington is out of business, so you don't have the option to even send it back anymore...

Just throw a trigger tech in it and let 'er rip, tater chip.

That's kinda what I thought too so it just boils down to a Timney, Jewell, or Trigger Tech. Any preference?

Timney - $150 or less and 10 mins of your time vs. God knows how long to send it off. My essentially unfired hand me down 700 was not included in the recall although it very well should have been. Two discharges the first time I took it out was enough for me.

Yup. I almost sent mine in right before they went under. Then saw the notice and bought myself a triggertech which has been great.
I worry that I never would have seen my rifle again !

Have timney, shilen, rifle basix, jewel and trigger tech. All good triggers except the rifle basix. My preference is the trigger tech hands down.

I had a Rem 700 with a recall trigger. At the time Rem was still in business and I sent it back to them for the recall trigger.
Now that Remington is out of business. Replace it with a Timney trigger.

Opted for a Timney. I liked the X mark in the rem 700 from the factory pre recall but knew it would come back as a heavy and rough trigger pull if I sent back in, which I'd want to upgrade at that point anyways.

This was years ago and would have the same mindset again today

Remington is not out of business....It was auctioned off and is under new ownership. Their new website is up and running and will be known as RemArms. Now do they still honor the recall or time frame of returns who knows.

To tell the truth I haven't heard of Trigger Tech until now. Sounds like they get good feedback. I will definitely be looking into them.
