Not sure what’s considered heavy? I shoot 82lbs and 550gr at 276fps. Still didn’t get a passthrough on my bull quartering away this year. They’re tough animals!

I shoot an elite gto 84# at 29" with a 520 grain arrow at 291fps. Its very quiet and Ive noticed less wind drift than with my previous bow setup. I like it.

I have my bow set at 75 right now with a 520gr arrow at 296fps at 32 1/2" draw. That would equate to 85lbs at 30.5" draw.

This is my "do everything" setup........hunting, 3D, field, whatever.

I'm shooting 72# with a 520gr arrow at 29" draw. I've yet to test speed but plan on changing strings soon and checking after i get done. I have a little room left to get close to 75# pull and hopefully be high 260's or low 270's.

Prime Logic at 80lbs, 27", 545 grain Valkyrie setup. 250 spine X Impact, aluminum collar, 250 grain head. Handles wind extremely well and performed really well on the one deer I shot with it. Not sure on speed but somewhere around 255.

80 pound Elite Answer shooting 500 grain axis 300’s at 280 ish or just under. Draw is 29.5” and 27” arrow. Use aluminum hit behind a black eagle insert 100 grain Broadheads.

77lb Hoyt CST, 28” draw shooting a 445gr arrow 300fps. Not super heavy but lots of energy and good trajectory.

I’m shooting a LD 80lb Hoyt nitrum. 575 grain axis 260s with 75 grain brass inserts at 31.5” draw. No idea what speeds are but it’s a hammer on game

I used to for many years..... decades actually.

Now, there is no good reason, bows of today have energy to burn. So unless you are going Water Buffalo hunting, just bump up your arrow weight To get more penetration.

I’m currently shooting a 70lb CS ZT Long draw at 32”. I’m thinking I gotta drop to 260 spines over 300s.

I’m planning on going to 260 axis at 32”, 75gr brass insert, 125 exodus and aluminum footers. I’m calculating roughly just over 600 grains. Hopefully they are stiff enough.

I’m shooting an 80lb RX-1 with 280 FMJ Injexions double inserts and 125g helix heads right at 525g. The only critter I’ve connected on was a raccoon. It didn’t end well for him.

If they aren't you can cut off a couple inches and then they'd easily be stiff enough. I shoot 29.5-30" arrows with my 32 1/2" draw with a QAD HDX rest. So you could probably cut the same 2" off your 300's and be fine as well.

What targets do y’all like for fieldpoints? I’m starting to go through my Block XL and want an opinion from other 80lb guys? I’m shooting 86ish lbs with 460 grain arrows. I was thinking about the spyder targets

I went the other way. 55lbs. (430gr arrow) I just check my arrow groups by looking at the dents on the target left behind after my arrows bounce off :D

currently shooting a defiant at 87# 30" draw with the victory vap, total arrow is about 560 or so grains, love it! I also use the spot hogg keeton release with it. complete pass through on a bull at 50 yards, really like the kinetic energy it puts out
