Hi all,

Just got my first real tripod and have been looking around for a quality head that would be suitable for glassing and maybe even shooting off of. I understand panning heads are generally better for glassing and ball heads are generally better for shooting. I came across the Benro GX25 and it looks like it it may be the best of both words since it has a panning axis above the ball head. In other words, the ball can be locked at any angle within its range allowing you to pan side to side. It's also affordable, 11.8 oz, and has a generous 55 lb load rating. What do you all think of this head for hunting?

I found one used on Ebay and will be giving it a try. Worst case, I have a nice tripod set-up for photography.
