Anyone using Ozonics or an ozone machine (and willing to admit it)?

I bought one. Deer come down wind all the time but in full alert. They dont spook but are incredibly spooky. I cant handle the noise.
I like to hear when hunting and the fan makes a lot of noise.
So in return i dont use it any more just not worth it.

I use one to treat all my hunting clothes, backpack, etc. Definitely removes body odor from them.

I got one for ground blind use. Definitely doesn’t deter or worsen your scent.

I have had it turned off and deer down wind bolt. Then flip it on and deer walk in. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

I specifically got it for Brown Bear hunting from a ground blind. They are smarter and spookier than anything else I’ve hunted. First season without one the bears never came in while I was in the blind. The next season I killed a Booner boar. Anecdotal yes, but anything that boosts your confidence helps

They definitely do work. Now whether it’s the “magic wand” or a must have….? That’s up to those who have to spend the $$$ on it. In my experiences with mine it does exactly what many previously said….the deer definitely can detect it, it however seems to give you enough time to make a shot if needed. It’s almost as if it just confuses them. I have one, I use it…every advantage I can get, I’ll take it!

Never used one hunting but I have one the size of a toaster I have used to rid foreclosed homes of horrible smells. It works like a charm. Some friends/partners of mine use one between air bnb showings when guests smoke weed in the house. Kills the odor within a few hours once they hotbox the house with ozone and open the windows and doors to let fresh air in.

I've been using 1 for 8-10 years, and they're like an American Express card for me. I don't go hunting without it.

I hunt on my own property, have just under 14 acres, and don't always get to play the wind. I go out when I can, and an Ozonics goes with me.

It is perfect? No. I've had some deer, mainly older does, get spooky. But I absolutely have had better luck since I started using it, and have had more deer come in from downwind. I mainly bowhunt from a treestand, but use it in my ground blind, too.

I've hunted from the same tree for about 15 years. The mount stays there year-round.

I made a portable ozone machine, I purchased the ceramic plates added a computer fan and some 18650 batteries all in a plastic electrical timer box.

When I was playing around with it in the house the wife told me it smelled like the outdoors… indoors.

I never did take it to the woods. Though I think it mostly does what everyone says it does. Scrubs your scent but leaves a differ smell in its place.

I think I spent less than $50 on it.

I use one to clean my clothes of scent if I go to grab food or gas. It works really well around the house too for pet orders, smoke whatever. Kills bacteria too.

I bought an Ozonics and use it from time to time. Im still not sure they work. Wind swirls and I’m moving the thing around. Not sure if that’s smart while hunting.

I use one pretty much all the time whitetail hunting and it is definitely not fool proof but I have seen it work without a doubt many times. When I say "work" I dont mean a 5.5 yr old buck walked straight into my wind for 200 yards and I shot him but that I had 4-5 does and a couple young bucks down wind of me 2 hours before dark and they didn't blow my hunt up allowing me an opportunity at buck before dark whereas the hunt wouldve been blown up before that deer even got out of his bed. Big deer are usually killed on marginal winds and I'll take all the help I can get haha

I have one I think there might be something to it but personally I'm just going to sell mine and have one less thing to drag out in the tree

I managed whitetail properties for some guys for a while, we had an Ozone change room and most guys used an Ozonics in the field, absolutely work in a blind situation!

Guys rarely got busted in our better tower blinds keeping windows all closed except cracking one and shooting the ozone out of it, deer 360 often with no issue.

I had a couple occasions in a tree stand where I saw it work, I have bow hunted whitetail for 30 years and never saw anything close to fooling their nose until trying Ozonics, I never bought one just used the extras from the lodge. I would not hesitate to use one stand hunting!

i've used one occassionally. Usually in coordination with a blind. but just don't lock yourself in a blind with it running. Instant chest cold.

What's the point? My drone doesn't carry my scent, so as long as I don't rev the rpms leading up to trigger activation, there's usually no issue alerting the game.

I have had a similar experience as you with the Ozonics. The deer definitely knew something was not right but could not figure out what it was. It could buy you a little extra time to get a shot off. That being said my batteries died after one year and I did not think it worked good enough to have them replaced. I would sell it if someone wanted to buy it.

They kinda work.

Had one sold it.

Infield, felt it was a waste of time.
At home, felt it did work on clothes.

Ended up being one more thing to mess around with.
Plus O3 is terrible for the lungs. Always triggered my asthma when around it.

Too much ozone can kill people.

One of the ways auto/home restoration specialist clean out odors is with giant ozone machines. They keep all people and pets away until ozone levels return to normal.

you're correct. However, so can too many Big Macs and there are still people eating those every day. So can the mercury in Walleye, but you'd have to eat it all day every day for years... I'm confident your ozone machine from deer hunting isn't gonna kill you.

Interesting and now that i think about it, my throat was feeling soar/scratchy and i had a cough for a few hours after hunting. I thought maybe it was allergies but i rarely have them be so acute and short lived. maybe it was the few times I could smell the ozone swirling around my head. I never breathed it in heavy for long, just a few seconds while i readjusted the units direction. But i did read on EPA site side effects are cough and can cause asthma to flare…
I work with really high concentration ozone generators. Ozone is extremely dangerous at higher concentrations. I've had sore throat, coughing for several days, headache and chest pains from an exposure. Lower concentrations are probably similar to smoking. I just checked their website and they don't tell you anywhere how much ozone is produced. Just it's safe. No parts per million rating. New models make "25% more!". How much is that?

I have an ozanics and use it on and off. Not sure the sound of the fan and the movement to screw it in and out of the tree is worth it.

Myself and folks I whitetail hunt with( in west central WI) all use them. my personal experiences lead me to believe that mature deer will eventually figure out that something is up, but that the ozonics do buy you enough extra time to potentially get a solid shot off when normally you couldn't. All that said, they aren't silver bullets. I still ALWAYS only sits stands when winds are favorable.
I agree
If you are hunting horns you better know the times to stay away if wind isn't favorable
