I figured instead of sharing my projects on various threads I’d just make a place where I can keep them all and share my struggles/success with you all. First up is my synthetic quilt.

Next is my dyneema pull outs. Trying different zipper
Configurations. I’d experiment more with shapes zipper location etc. but dyneema is pretty $$$$ right now. Hope to see the price drop eventually.

Cordura Stuff sacks.

I made these with the design to use them as my food bags. I wanted them built with the ability to attach them up high in my pack to keep the weight of my food centered, close to my back, and out of the bottom of my pack.

Originally I didn’t make them with boxed corners(3D cube like). But found I could get more volume out of the same amount of fabric by boxing the corners. So that’s the way that cookie crumbled. Pretty excited how they turned out.

The large one fits 7 days of food and coffee/electrolyte mix. The small is more like 3-5 days of food.

I repackage all my food so for someone who doesn’t I doubt they’d get the same, but for my use it should be the .

Next up is my micro spikes bag. Super simple. Not much to it. This will keep those noisy suckers from jingling around in my lid, and keep the wet nastiness off my beanie and neck gaiter when I want them out away but quiet.

I couldn’t locate my microspikes out of one of my super organized totes.... the creepers help paint the picture.

I made a quilt awhile back was tedious, tested my patience for sure. This makes me want to give it another go, good looking work.

How much would a 20 degree underquilt be?

At this time I’m not offering any custom quilts. Maybe someday down the road, but I don’t have the time to allocate to do it properly.

If you wanted some cordura food pouches, we could talk though.

Whenever I decide to bust out quilts for folks, I would only do synthetic options.

Great work! Those food pouches are a good idea. What made you decide to do cordura instead of something more lightweight for the bag?

#1 Durability.
#2 Cost.
#3 Look. I like the way they hold their shape.

I will probably make some out of dyneema too. But that will literally double if not almost triple the cost. The weight savings is negligible when you look at the cost differential.

What’s the weight savings worth to you? In the end, if there was a big need/want for dyneema ones, I’d absolutely crank some out for people. They’d be bullet proof for sure.

Let the creations continue. This is nothing original. Found one I liked online and scrounged what materials I had on hand to throw this together.

I received standard and metric gear wrenches for Christmas and they needed a home. Cordura 1000 for the win. I’ll wait for some more cordura in another color to arrive to make the metric version. Make it simple to tell apart.

Great work! How did you select the needle and thread for the Cordura? My wife has a similar machine that she quilts with, but I wasn't sure if it's designed to handle heavier fabrics. Is there anything in particular to watch out for when sewing the Cordura?
