Hi everyone, this community tends to serve up some quality suggestions on this front from time to time.
Here's what I'm working with - 13 days starting April 29th, flying into PHX on a Monday night, going to stay in Phoenix through Wednesday AM, then head into the surrounding areas (within ~2 hours, puts everything from Tuscon to Payson and everything in between in play) for 3 days. We've got another 7 days planned out already after that up in Sedona, Flagstaff, and South Rim, but struggling with so many options available for what to in Phoenix and where to camp/hike/fish for those middle 3 days. The kiddos are 4 and 7, respectively - tipi camping close to/by the car for what it's worth.
Top options I've researched on my own so far:
-stay close to Phoenix and go to McDowell Mt or Lost Dutchman Park
-Canyon Woods Lake, probably stay at Spillway or other close-by campground
-Catalina State Park and hit Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
Thoughts, recommendations, insights appreciated!
