Ok so here's the deal, my son and I are going on our first OTC muley hunt in AZ from Jan 1-8, we are going to be hunting around tuscon. My question is(yes it might be dumb I know) what are the roads like around unit 36a and 34a, I ask because I was planning on taking my 2018 f350 but have concerns about scratching and denting it up.
Now mind you I hunt here in Texas and dont mind taking it through the mud and dirt roads but I dont really want to scratch it up or dent it up. I was considering trailering my 01 ford ranger 4x4 with us and just using that to get around the units. But its is just something else to have to deal with. I will say that my ranger gets treated like a 4 wheeler and there are very few places I wont take it. Thoughts???

Never been in those units but I'd bring the ranger unless you're fine hunting off the more maintained and higher trafficked roads.

Dents are of no worry but you'll have pinstripes up and down your truck within the first 5 minutes. Bring the ranger.

I have been wanting to try this hunt for a while! Interested in hearing about how it goes for you! My parents winter in Southern AZ from December - May...I can't speak to the road conditions in that until though...

desert pinstriping adds horsepower, torque, and resale value.
My hunting partner rocks a 4 door, extended bed F350.
Hes not afraid to put some speed stripes on the big green bus.

Thanks for all the information everyone! I ended up hauling the ranger with us for the trip, and I was glad that I did. We took the little truck lots of places that I dont think my f350 would have been able to go due to size and weight. The trip was a blast, I will be posting a very detailed write up of how it turned out. We didn't kill any mulies, but had a chance to let some arrows fly, and made some great memories my son!
