Spent the morning glassing, about 9:30 stood up to stretch and noticed something on the skyline on a 13,000 foot peak. To surprise, it was bachelor group. I finally rolled out at 12:30 and they were still chillin’

I was maxed out on my scope and my phone zoom as this was pretty far, so not the best quality.

Pretty sure that is the same buck that I posted a picture of in the “have you seen a deer sit like this” thread.

Well I'll be... sure looks like it! I hunted a reindeer buck like that in 2019, but he had crab claw fronts for 4 points, and was a touch wider. Sure did bring back memories seeing that super tall silhouette though!

We have nothing but rock about 10 to 11 thousand feet here is Ca with very very few exceptions.

Usually gets rocky around 12k or so around here, but there are exceptions, this feature being one of them. There is definitely broken pieces of rock mixed in with that tundra, though. I have routinely seen droppings from the early summer at that elevation, but never actually seen a group of deer just hanging out there before.
