Backcountry Burglars

Two years ago some camp neighbors dropped by to tell us someone had tried to steal their atv’s and trailer.
I’m always worried about theft in the backcountry but don’t let it stop me from going.

Here is a unique one....Didn't happen to us, but to the neighbors camped about 75 yards away. We were hunting public land Osceola turkey and you were required to camp at designated campgrounds. The mosquitoes were outrageous that spring. A thermocell was virtually a requirement. Well, our neighbors got back to camp after their morning hunt and someone had stolen all of their thermocell refills! Left the thermocells, just took the fuel canisters and pads. All kinds of other stuff around to take too.
