here is some random pictures, when moose hunting we dont draw tags, we draw a unit an then recive a quota, to apply for a unit you need to be minimum 4 guys, so we hunt as a team, wild reindeer i similar to zour tag system.

we also use bay up dogs for moose, and are required to have a certified dog availabe to search any wounded animals.
our moose is smaller antlered than the north american one, the bull in the picture in the last post is quite big.

What's in the pipe? ;) Welcome! Cool photos, do you guys use hounds to hunt moose there?

Edit: just saw the post you made as I was typing, definitely interested in comparing hunting regulations! What do you have for predators?

Yes indeed we often use moose hounds, predators we hav is fox, wolverine, lynx, and bears
although the numbers of bears is not great, but increasing this could be said about all the major predators

Just brown bear or are there other species as well? Curious about typical hunting tactics for bears, looks like some wide open country.

Eurasian Brown bear, the terrain here up north is pretty diverce, alpine, birchforest, pine forest, tundra, the landscape can totally change in an 2 hour drive.

Bear hunting will often be bay up by moose hounds or spot and stalk.
the swedish population of bears is much more robust than the norwegian one.

Some pics of late season moose hunting, made difficult by crunchy snow.

Being saami i rock saami knives, although mora and helle is well known.
i also use fallkniven wm1 in 3 g steel.
i tried to join the interchangable blade crowd, but i was not convinced.

due to retarded politicians and red tape, bow hunting is not allowed in Norway, meat spoiling becouse of high tempratures is not really a problem (being at the optimal latitude) ;)
