The xc525c is tall enough to glass standing up for me. I'm 5'11"

Brock not that it matters, while the split in the tripod center post does give you that low option like you stated it started so it can be turned upside down and you can run your camera basically at ground level. A lot of macro or studio product photographers will also set it up directly above what they are shooting and use a cable release.

Regardless great review as always and I appreciate all the "work" you guys put into gear review. If you can consider testing gear in the woods "work"

Just got the Promaster carbon. Can't wait to try it in the field.

Can someone post a picture of what the aluminum "tube" adapter is used for? It's 4-5 inches long and has a threaded post on one side. I didn't see anything on the Promaster web site abou it.

Also, I wonder if you could order a second monopod leg for it, switch it out for one of the standard legs, and then use both monopods as treking poles or tent poles? Would save some overall packing weight and reduce some redundancy.
