I use the Katadyn Befree 3L gravity filter with bladder and it has worked very well for me.
However when temps get below freezing, I had an issue with the filter freezing.

This year I will exclusively run a Katadyn Steripen only. A good flowing water source is not hard to locate in the areas I typically hunt.

I'm running the Grayl filter bottle. It's perfect for here in MN and places like the boundary waters. I don't think it's ideal for western hunts though where you need to filter more than 1-2 liters at a time when water is scarce. We are bringing a platypus on our trip to WY this year.
